Bingo is one of the games that the churches use to gather funds for charity. Every week, usually on Friday or Saturday, all the interested citizens or villagers go to the local church to play the game. It is very interesting how this game has appeared in our social life. In 1530, when Italy was unified in 1530, the Italians were playing some kind of lottery known as Lo Giuoco del Lotto d'Italia. This lottery has been held every Saturday since its invention. To play Bingo, the Italians used special cards, divided into three horizontal rows and nine vertical columns. Each horizontal row contained five squires with numbers and four blank squares, which were arranged randomly in the row. The vertical columns contained ten numbers each, which were grouped in special way. There were 90 wooden chips with the numbers imprinted on them. They were put in a bag and during the game one person, known as Caller, took one of the chips and loudly said the number. Each player received a unique lotto card and if the number called appeared on their card they marked it off. The first person who completely covered a horizontal row was the winner.
